Elora is a stone village on the Grand River at the head of the Elora Gorge, a weekend destination with a strong artist community, small village lots and estate properties on the roads around it.
Elora buyers fall into two groups. Village residents and weekend homeowners have small lots on narrow streets, and they want something compact that suits an older stone or frame house: the J-315, the J-325 or a Nordic Retreat SE at $10,195. Rural and estate owners on the county roads outside the village have space, well water and often a view of the river valley, and they buy the seven seat J-485 or a swim spa, plus a Serenity sauna for the winter routine.
Deliveries in the village are careful work: stone walls, mature trees, narrow gates and tight streets, so a site visit comes before the quote and a crane is sometimes the only option. Well water on the rural properties carries hardness and iron, and we treat every fill accordingly. Properties near the gorge or the river are subject to conservation authority rules, so confirm what you can build and where before excavating. Centre Wellington's township office handles permits and setbacks for both the village and the rural area.
